This is a painting of Big Meadows Gift shop on Skyline Drive, Virginia; one of my favorite vacation stops. Several years ago this gift shop featured many locally-made crafts and gifts. The mountains abound with wildlife, hikers, campers and is an incredibly beautiful vacation locale!
I'm a self-taught artist drawn to art since picking up my first crayon in kindergarten. As a native New Englander growing up in the Berkshires, there were many ready-made scenes just waiting for any artist to immortalize them! After several years of working and raising our family, I've picked up my brushes and paints again to resume an old love, and as anyone interested in art will attest it never ceases to be totally absorbing.
